Designer Dental Solutions was founded by Ian Withers, a globally respected innovator, educator, and entrepreneur in the dental and orthodontic space. With a career spanning more than 25 years, Ian has consistently been at the forefront of digital transformation in dentistry — driving change, simplifying workflows, and developing products that deliver real results for clinics, labs, and patients.

Ian began his journey in healthcare innovation as the founder and CEO of Smile Corporation, a company that listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in 2002. He went on to establish BiteSoft®, and is the inventor and global patent holder of the BiteSoft® occlusal splint — a device now used around the world to treat bruxism and other occlusal conditions. The BiteSoft® brand is a registered global trademark with active licensees in North America, China, the UK, Canada, South Africa, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand.

In 2018, Ian launched BiteSoft® Digital Solutions, specialising in CAD/CAM orthodontics. As a Key Opinion Leader (KOL), technical consultant, and clinical diagnostician, he has worked closely with dental professionals and laboratories across Australia, China, and North America, providing support for aligner planning, indirect bracketing, and complex case management. He has also led postgraduate orthodontic training programs for general dentists in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the Philippines.

Throughout his career, Ian has founded and co-founded multiple ventures in the dental space, including The MyoHealth® Clinic, Saving Face Laboratory, and Exact Dental, each reflecting his passion for advancing orthodontic care through smart, science-backed systems.

Designer Dental Solutions is the culmination of Ian’s decades of experience — a brand built to solve real problems in clinical settings. With a focus on orthodontic aligner re-treatment, long-term retention and stress-free protective appliances such as Bitesoft®,the goal is simple: to deliver practical, well-designed solutions that make everyday workflows easier for clinicians and technicians alike.
